Link's House - Fan Concept

Link's father is a retired Hylian knight trying to run a small knight academy in Hitano. He markets the school as the training ground of the Hylian Champion. Although due to the peaceful nature of Hitano, the place has turned more into a daycare. Here the kids are more interested in his daughter's pets and gliding off high places.

One of the difficulties of designing this house was giving personality to the silent protagonist. Luckily Breath of the Wild Link is slightly different in that aspect since he is an amnesiac who was already accomplished. My focus of this design was to push the idea of life before the Great Calamity. When researching I found a sketch of Link and his family, which is the main inspiration for this design. I made this concept with the keywords "comfy MMO starting zone" in mind. It was a lot of fun, but also a very challenging week. This piece was my art test for Singularity6.
